Vocational Education Training Pathways

We provide a holistic education and recognise that each student learns differently. We cater for the needs of all students to ensure their long-time success once they leave school.

Vocational Education and Training (VET) is education and training that gives students skills and knowledge for work. VET operates through a national training system, and is delivered, assessed and certified by Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). The RTOs provide students with their VET results.

St Francis de Sales College reports the VET results to the SACE Board on behalf of students.

VET is an excellent choice of study for many students. It always includes practical, hands-on learning, which suits many students, but it also leads to excellent jobs in a huge array of fields. Studying VET as part of the SACE gives students a head-start on a qualification, which is a great way to fast-track progress towards a rewarding career.
The SACE enables students to include a significant amount of VET in their SACE studies. Students can gain recognition for up to 150 SACE credits at Stage 1 and/or Stage 2 for successfully completed VET. Completed Certificate III (or higher) qualifications at Stage 2 may count towards an ATAR. These recognition arrangements encourage students to complete, or make significant progress towards completing VET qualifications while completing the SACE.
