Junior School Rebuild

Reception to Year 6 redevelopment and Early Learning Centre Opening

Excitement is building for those in Year 6 and below, as they watch the work occurring in redevelopment of our site to deliver outstanding new state-of-the-art learning and play spaces for our Reception to Year 6 classes.

Designed to ensure effective interactions between staff can occur that deliver the most outstanding learning opportunities for our students across all modes of learning, our new Reception to Year 6 facilities will provide a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor learning environments and cater for the various modes of learning of all of our students.

Construction is already underway with the site being transformed to produce our four new learning communities; Early Learning/Reception, Year 1/2 Learning Community, Year 3/4 Learning Community and our Year 5/6 Learning Community. All four of these buildings will be surrounded by magnificent nature play and nature based learning spaces that utilise our site’s outstanding location in our beautiful Hills environment. College staff have been working together for more than two years in preparation for these new facilities, in recognition that any facilities are only as good as the outstanding teaching and learning being facilitated within them.

We are also delighted to have the Alive – Catholic Early Learning Centre being constructed as part of our building project. The Early Learning Centre will cater for children from 6 months of age through to 5 years and provide a seamless transition into our College’s Reception program. We are especially looking forward to the fact that our Catholic Early Learning Centre will provide opportunities for our youngest people to join our community and have continuity in their education right through to Year 12.

This is a very significant time for our College, and we are so looking forward to the new learning environments that will provide such amazing opportunities to develop our students’ creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills.

We greatly look forward to sharing further news with you as the build progresses toward the opening of our new facilities in July and September 2020.
