College announced today, new Deputy Principal for St Francis de Sales College

Please find a letter below from Director of Catholic Education SA, Dr Neil McGoran, regarding the substantive appointment of the position of Deputy Principal (Community and Wellbeing).

In recently confirming Mr Paul Fairlie as Deputy Principal (Community & Wellbeing), the Director has appointed to our community someone with extensive leadership experience in Catholic schools nationally. Paul has been Deputy Principal of Padua College on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria for the last eight years. For the last five of those years Paul has additionally been Head of School at the College’s newly opened Tyabb Year 7-10 campus. Paul has additionally held the position of Head of Campus at the College’s Year 11-12 Mornington site.

Prior to starting at Padua in 2011, Paul was Assistant Principal - Curriculum at Lumen Christi Catholic College, a Kindergarten to Year 12 school in New South Wales. Paul’s role prior to Lumen Christi was at De La Salle College Malvern, a Year 4-12 College in Melbourne, where he held various positions in both Pastoral and Curriculum Leadership. Paul’s earlier work in education was in Adelaide at Cabra Dominican College.

Paul holds a Masters in Education from ACU and additional post-graduate qualifications in Curriculum Leadership and Student Welfare through the University of Melbourne. Paul therefore brings to this community, both in his professional learning and in his school leadership experience, the ability to provide great support and service to staff, students and families. Paul is very excited about his appointment to our community and is looking forward to meeting and building strong relationships with students and families.

We look forward to welcoming Paul to our community in the new year. In so doing we will be farewelling Matt Williams, with us in an Acting capacity since term 4 last year, who has decided to return to his substantive position at St Michael’s College. We will find an opportunity to thank Matt and recognise his contribution to the College later in the term.
